Is it really that much better to be 250 off the tee and in the rough and stuck behind the trees than 275+ and in the middle of them with a window out and a million to one shot at the green . Or am I just a bit of a masochist?

I got it from a book about Mike Austin. He said that not many people reach single figures just 0.5%. My initial comment was an observation that quite a few low handicappers offer advice on here which is a good thing. I didn't word it quite right. Maybe if there was an official place on here to put your handicap the stats could be worked out.

Had a look at our club handicaps for the men, and roughly 15% are single figures. In the ladies it is less than 5%.

A figure of 0.5% must include all non members ,and probably anyone who has ever held a club.
