Computer virus - hotmail. Help.

Evening all,

Hopefully some of the technical experts on here can help.

The wife's hotmail account appears to have been "hacked" and emails sent from her account (and saved in the sent folder).

The emails are the usual dodgy stuff, click here for a free holiday etc.

Anyone know what might have caused this? I've run a full scan on the laptop and come back clean.......

Probably best just to shut the account and move on but just wondering if there is anything else I should be running/checking on the laptop?
