lie - as in how deep is the rough,
how far to 'target' - amazingly I do have one in mind, though results often give the lie to that
immediate hazards - from long acquaintance with playing from under low branches I know that any sort of loft is out. chipping over bunkers is a given, I always end up short sided behind one.
wind, uphill etc - +/- 1 or 2 (Royston in the wind 3)
pick club (avoiding any that don't want to join in that day)
then if I'm on a downhill or sidehill lie I will almost inevitably get the stance wrong
