There was a post some time ago about financial/membership problems with golf clubs.
I posted about my old club problems having problems with a very young/old membership so most members were now on reduced rates. After a recruitment drive and members offering their services for free for clubhouse repairs, helping the greenkeeping staff etc, their troubles were beginning to ease. The land which the course is situated (on a side of a steep hill) for over a hundred years is leased from the National Trust. They have now only been asked to pay three times as much for the land and for a much shorter lease. Darker times ahead again me thinks
