the problem comes when you do bomb a few, then start to think this should be normal - get in an awful lot of trouble that way.

I'm not short but I would still love an extra 10yds [and more].

Id rather have a wedge from the rough, than a 5 iron from the middle of the fairway.

I agree entirely with this comment.

The old saying "drive for show, putt for dough" is true but you should be leaving yourself shorter putts if you are playing your approach shots from closer to the green.
