Just wondering if anyone on the forum new any good household items that really make your clubs shine?

Sod the shine bit.
Fill a bucket with some water, put a little bit of car shampoo into the water put your clubs into the water and leave for 30 minutes. Come back, use an old tooth brush to clean the grooves, all mud and grit will come out with ease, dry and bobs your uncle.

Although watch the so-called whitening toothpastes as they might be too harsh for forged irons.

Just don't use hot water and leave a driver in the water, I did that and while it floated I soon realised that there was a little air hole with a plastic plug fitted, this got hot and allowed water to get inside the head, blinking annoying hearing it sloshing about, could only have been a couple of table spoons but annoying none the less....

We were at aclub the other week and there was this franchise company there. They charged £10 for 2 sets including the grips.

Train HID like I have. Lukewarm water, a drop of fairy and make sure you dry the shafts and the back of the cavity heads. And if you can make me a cuppa while I'm on here too!

I sit mine in a bucket of slightly warm water with a few drops of hard surface cleaner in. Make sure the water does not go above the bottom of the hosel.)
Leave them for half hour, and then give them a good ol' scrub with a nail brush, and use HID's toothbrush for the cavities.
I use the water to scrub the grips and just dab them dry.
Give each cavity backed club a few good swings to get most of the water out then I buff the shaft and head with a microfibre cloth and then stand them upside down with the cavity uppermost so the head is on the top of a radiator. Half an hour is plenty for them to dry out fully.
Its best to wet half your towel as well before a round, so you can easily clean the heads after each shot, then use the dry side to buff the head and shaft. That way you only need to clean the grips and heads thoroughly every couple of months.

Id never want to "train" my missus to do anything. If I asked her to clean my clubs she'd laugh at me, if she said yes I'd probably lose a bit of respect for her
I've said on here many, many times they broke the mould with my wife and the things she does for me especially with my golf kit - however you seem to have a bit of a humour bypass - I'm not encouraging any sort of subserviance at all and she will often tell me to "go away" and do it myself

I rarely have to clean mine at home. After every shot just wipe the club clean and put back in the bag.
The times I have done it (which is rare) is to use a bow of warm water with a drop of fairy liquid and with a nail brush just scrub the club clean. I don't soak mine and if I did it would only be the irons and enough to cover the blade. I'd never let the shaft or the top of the hosel get underwater.
Winter is perfect for cleaning clubs while out on the course.
