With all this talk of fake clubs recently i was left wondering about my scotty newport 1.5 which i bought on ebay. Anyone got any info on how to check authenticity please? Ta

Send it to the Scotty custom shop, to get a certificate of authenticity. Also handy if you ever decide to sell yourself, as you can prove it is authentic.

Unless you get tempted by the other custom shop options, then selling may be harder unless you find someone sharing your name!

Thats gonna cost you bigtime, even if just for them to tell you it's fake. There's a Scotty forum called 'The cameron collector' forum, they have a how to spot a fake section, you could have a browse which may help.

My Newport 1.5 came via titleist and the custom shop so i know it's the real deal.....my point is....there is a 7 digit product number etched on the back of the shaft about 1" down from the bottom of the grip, a quick call or email to titleist or Scotty shop quoting that number should establish it's pedigree?

I hope this helps and puts your mind at rest.

Yep.

Got mine from my club pro direct from Titleist, registered it on Titleist.co.uk yesterday with the number as mentioned above. Not gonna bother with authentication due to the time it will take to send it to SC in the US and get it back, not to mention the cost - and I know it came direct from Titleist. You can try calling Acushnet/ titleist direct and asking them.
