I reckon its close enough now that folks will know what golf they’ve planned for the next 10 days or so (weather & club closures permitting) So what you got?

We’re closed christmas day so that’s out but I’ll have;
  • couple hours practice on xmas eve
  • 2 or 3 ball social for boxing day (depends if an auld boy who’s ‘billy nae mates’ at the moment joins our two)
  • 6 of us playing 27th at away course (3 couples)
  • 4 ball social on new years eve
  • 4 ball social on 3rd Jan
  • Practice (or play as 2-ball for kicks n giggles) on 4th Jan
So 4 rounds, maybe 5
Being far from family means I don’t have diary filled to visit xyz at this time of year & lets me play… but I’d happily cancel most of the above to be with them

Whatever you manage to play I hope you all enjoy it

Gonna be working today and tomorrow (Christmas Eve) so won’t have time to play, our course is then shut for a couple of days to give the staff a chance to enjoy Christmas - so the boy has booked us a tee time on Boxing Day at Huddersfield - winter course set up it’s in beautiful condition for the time of year.
Back to my own club on Sunday for a Christmas comp.

I won't be playing until, at least, 29th and then it will be weather dependent
Course is open all over Xmas with access to the changing rooms but the clubhouse and shop will be shut.
I can't imagine the greenkeepers will be there either day but if they are it'll only be for a couple of hours to cut the greens and then home....but I hope they don't have to come in.

Speed awareness course today and gym this afternoon, if I’m lucky I may get to the range tomorrow morning.

27th Dec - 1st : Got the youngest 3 kiddies Jan so zero golf just being ignored by teenagers until feeding time 😂

2nd Jan if I’m lucky might get 9 holes in depending on local course availability. If not range session will be had.

3rd : Possibly a practice session

4th: Fly back out for work.

No real golf for me until probably March.

We’re closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Other than that it’s business as usual so I’m playing my usual days.

Got 12 holes in yesterday, very wet.
Too much going on the next week so that’ll be me till the NY I reckon.
Maybe squeeze in a wee hour on the range but doubtful

Played yesterday as I've already finished work. If I'm lucky I might be able to play twice next weekend which is a rarity - Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. After that not sure, might do an early new year's eve round as we have done that before.

Booked to play with another 15 lads next Monday.
Totally forgot about it and arranged that day to be our Xmas family day (it’s the only day the kids can all make).
So no golf for me but I did at least get to pay for a round and a bacon roll 😂

Roll-up on Sat 27th and on 28th last round of Winter Mixed Greensomes league phase. Me and my partner have struggled to put a decent score together…and likely bottom of our 5 team league. But we haven’t played together much at all…and we don’t get many shots (12) compared with most other pairs. The truth is that I think that that makes things harder when most pairs get 20+ it shouldn’t, but it seems to. That said it’s been a lot more interesting format and fun than I’d imagined.

I was quite surprised to learn that my course is open on Christmas Day, albeit the clubhouse etc are not. There is currently exactly one tee time booked. Hope no poor junior green keeper is having to come in for this!

My second game of the month and last one of the year on Saturday 27th.
In a 4-ball, first group on the tee at 8:10am, just before official sunrise time. Perfect.
Forecast is dry, 4° feels like 1° in a NE wind of 10mph. Rising to 7° feels like 4° at 12pm.

I will be carrying 14 clubs. More than 95% certain to feel cream-crackered by the end.

Probably just the usual Sunday skins on the 28th and Friday Skins on the 2nd Jan.

Maybe a few of us might have an away day somewhere local during the last throes of the month. Must admit I've always tried to blag myself a round at Purdis over Christmas but given the state of my golf I dont think I'm going to bother this year!!

Have an injury and haven't played for a month, probably mid Jan before I can play. No longer badly injured just visitors and then trips away.
