Chris wood has just signed to play Mizuno clubs for the foreseeable future, he was already a great talent in waiting now with proper gear he can go out and start winning. ;)

The Assistant Pro at our club reckons that most club pro's, even though they may be contracted to sell other makes, would single out Mizuno as the makers of the best irons. They may not make the best drivers/rescues/putters, but they are head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to irons.
Once he gets used to them, I expect Chris Wood to climb the rankings further, and maybe make the RC Team.

Cobblers. Whilst Ping aren't my brand of choice, most of the major manufacturers make something that in the right hands can win majors. It isn't the arrows, it's the indian.

Heck, Tiger must be flippin brilliant, he can win gaming Nike.

I know that he'll be getting a load for money for playing Mizuno, and that the Irons are fantastic, but surely he was going along quite nicely, and I saw no reason to change! I hope it does not go wrong for him, as he seemed to be a bright light for English Golf!

Sorry mate, not trying to flame anyone particularly, but most good golfers could bash it round with a set of fisher price, and still make us look daft.

Daft post imo. I have owned Mizunos and many other iron sets and they are not better than other brands. The ball compression and the shaft flex will account for more feel than the forged head. They look beautiful (MP's not MX's) yes but they dont hit a ball any better than any other clubs. There was a time in the early 90's with the TP9 blades that Mizuno were really popular with pros and low handicap ams and that reputation has lived on but club and ball technology has moved on. If they were so great all pros would use them, they don't which shoots down the OP's theory imo.

Wasn't he Ping beofre. When did the change happen
Up until now he wasn't sponsored by a club maker, he was independent and used what he felt like buying.

He was Titleist through the bag up until his switch. Titleist are one of the manufacturers that supply England squad elite amateurs with either free or heavily discounted stuff.

Notice he hasn't put a Mizuno driver in the bag, can't say I blame him either

Aye.
I remember when Faldo switched to Adams
;)

Yes, Adams!

One of the biggest golf manufacturers in America, most played hybrid on the USPGA Tour, used by Tom Watson, Baddeley, Campbell, Langer, Des Smyth, ladies major winner Brittany Lincicome!

Hardly fisher price!

And back on track, like Birdieman, I dont see Mizuno as being better than Ping, TM, Titleist, Callaway or whoever. Whatever club feels and looks right in your hands is the best one to use.

Surely when you're earning as much as the top players do you would have thought that they would play the clubs that work best for you and not who pays you the most?
In reality of course that doesn't happen. Notice how many play TaylorMade - would the likes of Garcia,Rose and Goosen play TM if they weren't getting loads of cash for it? Would Gmac and Big Phil play Cally?

Most decent players agree that Mizuno are one of the best forgings in the game. Tiger used them as an Am, and his first Nike set are thought to have been made by the same forger and just stamped Nike.

It is true that most pros could knock it around with a set of Dunlop Jessie Valentines, but a lot of them are very choosy and picky about their clubs and will complain if they are 1 degree out or the flex is a shade different from the rest.

New to golf and I'm not saying this because I have a set but tour edge clubs are often in some top pros bags through choice but they dont pay for players to use their clubs either. :(
