Another glorious day in down town Dong Guan. This photo was taken from my hotel room, at 8.30 in the morning, and the visibility is already down to less than half a mile. To think we worry about pollution over here. Why do we bother? It's not us who are poisoning the world.
Downstairs in the hotel was a shop selling various branded clothes and shoes, mainly Gucci. My Chinese colleague was saying that the prices were extortionate, and that if we saw any thing we liked he could get it way cheaper. It was dirt cheap, and fake as.
They also sold golf clubs. I looked at a Vokey wedge, (which looked ok, but I am not hugely familiar with their current line up). This had the hugely expensive price of £15. New.
They had an RBZ driver, no price tag, a few TM burner drivers (the white one), no price tag, and some TM irons. These all looked pretty good, but again, I am not familiar with the real thing. The RBZ especially looked very real.
They did however have a few Titleist 909 drivers. This is a club I used to own, so I know it well. The fonts were slightly out, the paint fill was wrong, and so although they looked superficially ok, they are clearly fake. They also had a 906 fairway, which again, I have owned, and that really was a poor copy.
I would guess it's all fake. And cheap. I was going to go back in the morning and take some pictures, but they were not open. Shame. Can't believe they can copy an RBZ so quickly, and it really did look the bizzo.
