Chicken or egg?

I'm not affected by slow play if it's caused by groups ahead. I get a bit wound up if one of my playing partners is slow and I think we're losing ground. I'll then end up trying to play my shots more quickly to make up for it - and I'm constantly glancing behind to see how closely we're being followed.

We were slow last night and it winds me up but, as others have said, it's not the cause of bad golf. It's my inability to deal with being wound up that causes the bad shots. That wouldn't be an issue if the pace was ok but ultimately, there will be times when it's slow - we all know that - it's up to us to learn to deal with it until it goes away.

I find slow play useful when I'm out with boring players, "sorry guys but this is too slow for me. I'm off in." Occasionally said when I'm lathered with sweat at the pace of play.

You just told me Cleveland was a 9 hole course, and them other holes were next door.....:)
