Had a thoroughly enjoyable round with the craw today at his course, Old Ranfurly.

We got really lucky with the weather as it was really chucking it down when I left the house at 8.30 and although it was still raining when we teed off it brightened up nicely and with the stiff breeze mostly keeping the rain away it could've been almost described as tropical (for the West of Scotland in September ).

The course was in superb condition and surprisingly dry underfoot for the amount of rain.

The greens were great, fast and true. Too fast for my dodgy putting stroke on a couple of occasions as it was only the fringe that kept my ball on the green.

It was the first outing for Crawford's new Ping i15's and he certainly got them working, hitting some beautiful iron shots.

It was great to have a nice, relaxed round of golf on a near empty course.

So thanks again Crawford for a great days golf and the usual great company on the course.

We certainly knocked it off weather wise as it wasn't looking promising' especially at 0800 when I was out with the dog!

Old Ranfurly certainly drains well and despite the monsoon like conditions of the past 48 hours the course was in good shape. Our greens have been in superb condition all season. They were still good today despite the rain fall lately.

Good game and good company with some decent golf thrown into the mix as well. Team Scotland have a very handy asset in IainG with a 20 handicap, team Ingurland beware. Although I know how to put Iain off his game, just get him talking about his love of malts!!!

i15's felt good today, first outing and probably a better bat choice for me than the s57's. I15's and me will get along just fine I feel.

Glad to hear you guys had a decent dayout,Ian's a top bloke to play with and dangerous of that handicap.

They i15's were the the bargain of the year mate, good stuff.

A bargain and a half Stevie boy. Arthur Daly stuff, think I'll invest in a camel coat.
