Cheapest/best/value for money laser?

Damn you for the good review. I've been tempted since this thread started. For a ton it seems a bargain. I'm sure I will pull the trigger soon.

In the grand scale of things, when compared to what I waste each month on going out drinking, going out eating and golf, £100 is nothing. I've spend more on a golf club that hardly use! I think this will improve my game a great deal.

Yeh I'm sure it will mate. I have a garmin g6 for hazards and front middle and back but I'm just thinking that within 150yards I'm now starting to look at really going for some pins so this may have to be purchased.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd add to this.

I recently bought a non-brand laser rangefinder from premierlakeballs (one of the proforce ones). I've used it for a few rounds so far and found it to work just fine. Seems that light travels in just the same speed with this as it does with a nikon or bushnell...I think from looking at a number of the other cheap ones mentioned in this thread (snooper, aite etc) that there is a factory in china churning them out and putting different badges/trim on to suit.

Not being a long hitter, I don't really need to laser any flags that are more than about 170yds away, as by that time my level of accuracy is well below it being worth my fiddling about getting numbers to the nearest yard, but I can vouch for that fact that it's reasonably easy to flaglock onto the pin from that distance downwards. Pretty quick to do once I'd done a couple of rounds and certainly no particular inconvenience or timewasting.

I haven't used any posh rangefinders, so can't report on its ease of use compared to these. Probably best to keep it that way, as I might be shocked by the primitive nature of mine. Ignorance is bliss and all that.

All in all, I'm pretty happy. Came for about £100 with a bag of decent lake balls and free postage. Prompt service and delivery.

I'd waited for a while to try and get a branded make on the bay, but never managed to get one for the sub 3 figures that I thought I could justify to myself.

I had the hillman and found it poor and hard to lock on, used it once and moved it on,

Recently tried a v3 from bushnell, what a bit of kit!

The Bushnell maybe a bit more expensive but worth every penny
