Last week is was sent into town by the missus to get some more feeding bottles for the new arrival and as Mothercare is next door to Mike Ashley Inc. i thought i'd pop in and look at the golf section.
Now i have to say im not a golf snob and love to play on a budget to show it can be done so im happy to use Dunlop.
Anyway, i was looking at their new line of clubs and one caught my eye. Their new line of hybrid wedges which have a wide rounded sole and a big cavity back and at £14.99 i decided to have a pop.
I have to say im am very suprised. Feels good, performed well for the price and if, like me, wedges are your nemesis then its not a bad option.
It got me thinking though if we put too much stock into brand names?
I reckon for £150-£200 i could out together a full set including bag and balls that would be better than most of the "starter sets" out there. Maybe a challenge for the Golf Monthly equipment team?
