Hi
I'm thinking of changing my irons I currently play with mp32 blades I'm hitting them well but my distance isn't there with them I'm hitting a 6iron 160yrds.
What's a good set of clubs for 200£-250

I'd take 160 with a 6 iron consistent!

For what it's worth, I played a set of MP32's and loved them. I only changed to the MP63's because I had a bit of a windfall. I still have the MP32's living behind the sofa. They are the only clubs I've never kept once replaced.

If you're hitting them well, I'd be tempted to stay put as they are awesome irons.

I had some tm burner 2s and was hitting an 8iron 160 just makes it easier with higher lofted clubs to stop em on greens.
The mp32 are awesome clubs was just gonna get a spare set of cavity backs for when I'm struggling to hit them

160 with a 6 iron is OK for most amateur players,
Only change if you actually see a improvement, Why else change?

Im currently using X22's and i hit my 6 iron about 170 and i cant see myself ever changing, Maybe only if my clubs get damaged or too well worn, And course if they get nicked.

Try a few you like if you see no improvement then leave the shop

160 is an ok distance for 6i. It's not long by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not unduly short. You irons have weaker lofts than the burners, your 6 iron is 31 degrees. If you want to hit a 5iron with 6 stamped on the bottom then by all means switch to a set of burners.
If you strike your clubs well then I would not see additional distance as a reason to change. Hit them consistently, know your yardages, and who cares what number is written on the bottom of the club

by changing clubs he could gain 10 -20 yards with the same swing. who wouldn't want that. defo have a look at newer mizzy irons. could be a game changer

Thats a fair point, but if he's comfortable hitting a 6 iron, consistantly, why not invest in a 4 hybrid and hit that 180 ish ? Most courses, a driver and hybrid will be ok for the high 300 yards holes (wind permitting of course).

Not saying this is necessarily the O/P's train of thought, but alot of amateur's see Tiger and Sergio hitting an 8 iron 200 yards and think that they should be doing it too.

If he switched to newer Mizzie mp irons, like the mp64 for example, he'll be getting 1degree stronger loft on his 6iron and the same length shaft. He is not going to get much in the way of extra distance out of that.
Maybe if he goes to a jpx with longer shaft and cranked lofts, or he could just pull the 5iron out instead.

his irons are a few years old and he can COULD gain 10 - 20 yards with the same swing, its defo worth a try.
if you can hit your driver say 220 240 carry. and was offered 260 280 carry with the same swing but different driver, would you try it? I know I would

I hit my 6 iron 160 with 10 yard gaps between clubs. I went to upgrade my irons but couldn't justify over 500 pound for similar distances. but I did go and try them just to find out.

What are you playing off ? Im of 17 and my 6 iron is about 140yds and when I was off 14 about the same, I wouldnt buy clubs on the pretence of hitting it further but more consistent.
