Centenary gear gets an outing in Portugal

I have just got home from a very successful trip to the Algarve. I went out there to marshal at the Portugal Masters.

One of the benefits was I got to play the course on Monday. We did not play from the championship tees (good job as my game was total rubbish) but instead, we played off the yellows which were, on most holes, only about 20 yards in front.

As you can see, the GM centenary gear got an outing This is yours trully standing on the 18th tee.

very nice, how did the marshal job come about?

2 or 3 years ago my club was asked to provide a team at the Senior Open to marshal one hole which gave me a few contacts. The best way to get into it now is to watch the websites for the various events, that is where they look to get the volunteers.
