Category 1 after 30 odd years.

What can I say, cheers guys. TBH I’ve played a lot of golf this year and for the first time I played through the winter. I must admit I’ve played some absolute rubbish, Goswick was one example, and I’m still fighting the odd hook that’s spoiled some really good rounds. My 74 included a double bogie at the first after hooking one into the trees. After that I just went for everything.

I’ve also had a few coaching lessons from a pro who doesn’t fill your head with all the technical jargon. He’s the kind of guy who you totally believe in and you walk away with a smile on your face. We’ve been working on a low and slow takeaway, extending my left arm on the backswing, mainly to try and sort my relatively flat swing. I’ve also been coming over the top now and then, so I’ve been concentrating on starting the downswing from my legs and hips, clearing my left side. In fact, try and deliberately pull the ball left and it’s amazing how hard it is. In saying that, it’s not easy to get your mind set on doing that when you have row of dense trees running parallel from the tee up the left hand side of the fairway.

Onwards and upwards.

Legend, Harv. Well done. You've always looked Cat 1 to me, my friend. Solid all round. You're setting a dangerous example, you know. Ahh, we can all dream.
