Hello all,

I have searched and found some of the reviews over the last year.

Thing is they have a £35.00 (after 5.00) offer on teetimes.co.uk and although it does not include for single golfers I called Devere up and they said they will still do it.

Question is, has anyone played it this summer , as most reviews were from a year ago. Everyone said never worth £125.00, but for £35.00 is very tempting. If anyone wants to join me on Monday night (weather permitting) I may book it over the weekend.

Haven't played it this year as my mate moved his membership ( to a club nearer his home) You will have read the reviews on the drainage work and how its not the greatest in teh wet. The weather forecast looks good for Monday and its worth the £35 for the views on a clear day.
If its a late tee-off you are getting, it would be worthwhile playing the 'Wee Demon' 9-holer up at cameron House Hotel ( just up the road) as a wee warm up.
The clubhouse at Carrick is v.nice if a bit pricey. I'd thoroughly recommend you have lunch at The Great Scots bar in Cameron House.

Ironically, my firm is hosting a charity day 2moro at The Carrick. I cant make it (playing a comp) but I'll hear all about it on Monday and come back to you...

It's maybe a bit late but I know some of the golf insurance companys gave a round away if you took their insurance. They are cheaper than the £35 you are going to pay.

It was looking in great condition two weeks ago. I think you'll enjoy it.

My club is only 25 miles away if you want signed on your more than welcome. I'm working till 4, PM me if your interested. The greens are superb at present.

Thanks for the advice chaps.

I'll wait until Saturday and if the 48 weather forecast is reasonable I'll book the Carrick.

Already insured through my own club and on house insurance, although I am considering going for one of the golf insurance deals next time, instead of the extra premium.

I may now also treat myself to royal Aberdeen, as with the mileage on what I charge work for my private car, it will probably pay for both rounds.

Thanks for the help, and thanks Craw, maybe when I visit Glasgow with work, I'll look you up next time.I normally play Bonyton for free when up there, but would fancy your gaff also, time permitting.Again, if ever around Liverpool look me up.

Hello again,

My plan is to have lunch beforehand, as afterwards I'm guessing I'll have a 3 hour plus drive up to Aberdeen and I wont finish till 9 ish.

Can you recommend anywhere for lunch that has good views over the loch, good food, but not silly prices. Work pay for me but not for the mrs. Also I am sure Cameron house prices would be baulked at by the boss, and maybe a wonderment of why I had lunch well away from an intended route.
