So 3 cards in and Im offically a 28, so at least Ive got something to work towards!

My Rounds of late between 106 and 98, so suppose I maybe a true 28!?

What was your first handicap and 1st cut to?

First handicap 18, first cut, went up to 19.

First handicap of 21 and cut to 18 then gradually worked my way to 24 then down now to 11.

Was same as Murph got handicap of 16 and went up to 17 before coming back to 16 again.

Dont worry at all about handicap as if you do it can make you play worse so go out enjoy yourself. I found out the hard way started to worry about it in medals and ended up playing worse golf I had in years

Haven't got mine yet, playing my last 2 cards this weekend and then hopefully in at the deep end with the monthly medal the saturday after

Do they take an average over the 3 cards or is it the lowest (adjusted) round that they use to determine the initial handicap? Just that I shot 89 on my 1st card (par 72) and have previously never got below 94 there, so if its the lowest card it could be some time before I ever get cut , especially as that round included a 7 at a par 4 and a 9 at a par 5

It's not where you start from but where you get too. Summer is coming and so it should make scoring easier. I confidently predict the OP to be 25 or less by September

First handicap 10. Couldn't hack it for 2 years or so then it all clicked when I hit 12. Was then down to 9 in 6 weeks.

First handicap 15, first cut a month later - down to 14.

My first handicap was 20 and never moved for a year. Then got cut 6 shots each of the next two years and now i struggle to get cut 1 shot a year
