Cardiff Sacking Malky Mackay

That's the usual official statement - whether sacked or not.I guess the evidence is the pay off but this of course is never made public.

Its not managerial changes however. Its changing the name (e.g. Hull Tigers) or the kit (the not so Bluebirds) or some other part of the clubs history.

Yes they are very poor

Both from two people who haven't a clue about the club they own

But the last straw appears to have been Mackay going public over plans for the Club to spend yet more money in January despite knowing they were already significantly overspent.
My understanding was that he was asked what would strengthen the squad, and he said bringing in three new players in the transfer window. He didn't say he was going to be doing that, but of course the owner has used this against him. I think Mackay has shown his loyality to the Club by carrying on for so long. Vincent Tan sums up what is wrong with football owners, greed and no respect for the traditions of a club. How can you change the shirt colour of a team that has a historic nickname based on the old shirt colour ?

If you fly with the crows you will get shot with the crows.

Football Teams = Rich mans toys.

Once again I find myself agreeing with you.

Do football fans really think an owner (foreign or otherwise) is going to invest millions into a club and then leave the spending of those millions to an ex-player with zero business experience.
It is never going to happen and, in any event, directors have "involved" themselves in playing matters ever since the professional game began.

All supporters want their clubs to be able to compete financially with their peers but are reluctant to accept the price of that is likely to be the owners exerting influence in all aspects.

I'd take him at Parkhead over Sir Neil.

A nicer man you won't meet and his Father, a Queens Park legend/stalwart, is an even finer gentleman. I remember speaking with him after a Berwick v QP game years back and my old man asked him what his ambitions were as you could see he would not be hanging around the Scottish 2nd Division for long and he answered that he wanted to sign for Celtic spend his career there, play for his country and go on into coaching after his playing days end.

He's no done bad so far.

That's irrelevant really, a fella has lost his job which in turn won't do his reputation any good in future.

Since when has losing a job ever damaged a football managers reputation lol. Only business in the world where as soon as they get fired other clubs seem to clamour for them

He is already 2/1 for the WBA job and he hasn't even left Cardiff yet. What a farce.

A few people I know support Cardifff or should I say used to, after the whole strip change farce 1 if them handed his season ticket back and refuses to watch them at all anymore. It's a shame the majority of the other fans wouldn't do this and make a statement instead of just moaning about it but then going to the games and lining the owners pocket.

Being a Everton fan I used to be jealous of the other clubs getting wealthy foreign owners and having millions to spend in the transfer window. Now I'm glad we have Kenwright, he has his faults but the main thing is that he's a Everton fan so he has the clubs best I resets at heart.

especially when it is obvious to most that were he to be fired in most industries McKay could claim unfair dismissal - and he'd probably win his case. I don't think him being fired affects his future prospects one iota. My sympathy is with him for the disruption and upset it will cause to him and his family.

Definitely doesn't you only have to look at the rumours about Villas-Boas this morning to see that!

I don't understand why the fans don't make a stand against these owners who couldn't give a toss about the history of their clubs, a couple of weeks of empty terraces would soon make them think!

Don't tell me - AVB for Cardiff City? Surely not

.....and if the owner then pulls his money out, what then?

As Doon frae Troon said (more delicately) if you get into bed with these people you know what is going to happen.

Cardiff City is the fans' club BUT Mr Tan owns it. Spot The Difference!
