I used them on the way home from RCP

I've had AA for years, they always put the renewal price up so I just phone them and ask why as I haven't called them out (except for this year!) and they instantly put the price back down.
This year I got a quote from the RAC which the AA matched. A day later I got a call from RAC asking if I wanted to take out their quote. I explained that the AA matched it to which the guy replied we'll beat it if I cancel and go with them. So why didn't you give me your best price originally I asked? Umm, err err... goodbye.

Looks like the advise I got from the RAC was right. In fact, was almost a rollicking off the lady on the phone!

Auto-renewal came out my account, rang em and asked to cancel so I could go back to AA and use quidco. She proceeded to make me aware I was being a tool as I was getting a bargain with them, turns out I'm paying £89 for everything (aside from European cover) as its subsidised by VW from my purchase.

Prior to that I always swapped every year using quidco, always got 'new customer' deals and around £30-£40 cash back.
