not to be invasive but do you have any idea of a cost/year for your brothers car? just so i know how much im likely to be shelling out if i go down the used car route?

i THINK it was a 56 plate and he got 6400 private. they sold it 3 months ago. he packed his TT into a container and moved to cyprus to live. i was in the astra and i liked it. having owned a nova and astra before. try autotrader. although i am a big vw audi seat skoda fan. any of these with the 1.8turbo engine is fast.

My advice is a 1.9 TDi Golf...

Interesting, I'm thinking of changing and was about to post a thread asking if the Golf Mk4 boot was big enough for a set of clubs and small trolley...they don't look that large, but I guess I'll need to test-drive one first really.

the Touran wasn't big enough to get the clubs in - not without taking the woods out first.

(they had one as a prize at DG - you had to clear the back fence with a range ball to qualify - well over 300 - no chance)

So I'll probably have to snap all my clubs in half to get them in a Golf then!!? Perhaps I'll not bother...

I've got a Leon which I think is about the same size as a golf.

I have to take the woods out then the bag just fits in diagonally. The woods then sit over the top.

I got my clubs into the Golf fine, though as region3 says, you may need to take the woods out. If that's an inconvenience, then maybe it isn't the car for you.
