Hi all,

Wonder if anyone would be able to assist me with this?

Our new Captain has asked me to help him arrange his Captains away day this year, will be in August (specifically the 14th if this helps) and I'm trying to find a good option to play at. Needs to be in or around Surrey (we're based in Wimbledon). Ideally we're looking for a bacon roll, 18 holes and a dinner (roast or similar). Probably 50+ guests.

I've been asked to see if I can find anything or anywhere and have been given a provisional budget of about £60 per head.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Jez

Would Blackmoor be too far away ? Lovely course.

Your selection is very vast down there

Don't know Dwight. Do the Abbertons still play? Was two brothers (Barney and Percy?) and their sons had joined about 15-20 years ago as juniors. All brillaint players. What about Phil Hales and Norman Tibos?

I think they may no longer be with us. Gary played for ages, but left in the last year or two (played off 3). Phil Hales is still there yea, don't suppose he has changed one bit? Never heard of Norman tho?

Surrey National have an offer on for societies at the moment. Or Westerham, just into Kent is lovely, but then I'm biased!

There is every chance that my course which is just into Kent will do a deal along the lines of

Coffee & bacon roll
18 holes
2 or 3 course lunch/dinner for between £60&£65

The website is www.wkgc.co.uk if you want to have a look!

I'd certainly recommend going to one of the Heathland courses - even if just outside 'Surrey'

If Farnham or Blackmoor are not your cup of tea, then Camberley Heath always features high on my recommendation list.

My place at Dulwich & Sydenham Hill is within your price range, and I think you'd have a good time - but if you're fixed to 14 August unfortunately we already have an event of our own on that day.

Based on your budget, and being in Surrey I would have a look at West Byfleet. Our Society went there last year, and got all you are looking for at £60. Nice course, reminds me of North Hants in places, and a proper members club.
