Caps

Keep their head warm? Habit? Coz it’s a club cap? Holds their ball marker?

Weather is often not constant for the entire round of golf, if sunny it gives a bit of shade , if wet a bit of protection and I keep my ball marker on it sometimes.

Limited peripheral vision so you don’t get distracted by some goon going through their bag next to the tee?

If you’re in warmer countries you can still burn through the cloud if you have a perfect head that has not been ruined by unsightly hair.

Keep my head warm on moderately cold days
Keep the sun from burning my head
Stop my hair, that I have, from blowing around and being a distraction
The peak keeps my eyes focused, reduces distractions.

Quite possibly there is an element of Pavlov's dog about this, play golf, wear cap, but I tell myself the above is the truth ?

Being very much a slaphead, I’m very wary of UV exposure, if it’s cloudy I’ll often go without, but if there is a hint of brightness on the cap goes, especially between April and October

First is to keep the sweat off the sunglasses
Next is to see the ball in the sun

Third is to take off when acknowledging the gallery when holing out from off the green

Reduces distractions for me and reduces reflections on my glasses.
I always used to wear a visor until I realised I had a bald spot.

Only if there is rain; if it's chilly, or if the sun is bright and low. Wore one today - chilly and windy, but it blew off a couple of time so had to tighten it up

Cap if it’s raining.
Bobble hat if it’s cold.
Cap & bobble hat if it’s raining and cold.
Sunglasses when it’s bright enough (no hat/cap)

I wear one when needed and don't when it's not. Although sometimes I'll just keep it on if I've had it on for most of the round.
