Capello's resigned!!

Would be a waste of 'Arry's talent (dealing) imo.

English players just do not seem to be able to be motivated to play for their country - and haven't been for 30years or so!

Poisoned Chalice imo!

I can't believe people are happy to see the back of a world class manager with a great European pedigree who has won as many trophies he has.

Capello is a winner and the FA directors think they know better and they listen to the xnephobic press that harry redknapp is a better manager.

Only man for me now is a man with 37 yrs football experience who has won trophies In europe......................:........................

Mr Roy Hodgson

England will always be mediocre until we limit the number of foreign players allowed in a squad. Good young players are not even getting a look in at top level. Managers will rather buy from anywhere else than their own country, we end up trying to pick a side from second choice players at club level.

So fabios resigned what's it with these Italians diserting sinking ships

See my reply to the other joker:)

Capello played right in to the fa's hands in resigning, reckon they've wanted him gone since last summer but didn't want to pay the severance package.

I'm done with football, bunch of stuck up their own arses, rich divers nowdays, on far too much cash.

No matter who they get in the tabloid rags will do their best to make the job harder than it already is.

It's the only country I know where the national papers seem to want to ruin any slim chance we have at major tournaments.

The England job is now a job managers are reluctant to take because of all the outside interference and lack of support from the FA.

Good luck to whoever takes it as it can ruin your career.

Our friends North of the Border are out in force tonight:) good job the Jocks are well prepared for the tournament. Nearly forgot your not there are you:D

The thing about Scottish fans is tha they at least recognise that the national team is crap. When will the morris dancers wake up? England will NEVER win anything at international level.

We are not there by choice - it has very little to do with the fact that we have pish players and a crap manager. Much better to get the disappointment over with during qualifying than to qualify and spend months thinking that we could actually win the thing.

I for one would be quite happy if England never win anything. The current lot, terry, cashley, rio, gerrard, Rooney, defoe, etc are not fit to clean the boots of the 66 lot. No way do I want to see them pouncing about with winners medals. If, and when we get some honest pros coming through, of decent character, I might change my mind.

I find this whole thing so ironic. Three and a half years ago the captain's armband was being passed around to all and sundry and Capello was perplexed by the English obsession with a full time Captain and now he's fallen on his sword because of the Terry affair.

If you ask me he knew that he couldn't win the tournament (in fact he'd have struggled to get us out of the group stage) with this team. His reputation would be in tatters, whereas now he can slink back to Italy to take over at Inter Milan. He may well be a good coach but a national team manager is about man management and Capello can't communicate with his players effectively. I think Arry could gel a squad and a team but he'll miss the wheeling and dealing. My other preferences are Mourinho or Hiddink but inthink one of those two will replace twitchy at Spurs.

Personally I'm glad Capello has gone. Never liked the appointment, his attempt to learn english has been poor, the world cup was a shambles and his misplaced loyalty in a carthorse with the turning circle of a bus is laughable. I hope whoever gets the job takes a hungry crop of young players to the Euros. Germany did that in South Africa and stunned a lot of people

Great news. Got to be an Englishman to take over. Stuart Pearce to hold fort while Harry finishes the job at spurs seems the logical outcome. Harry will be be in place at seasons end while also having an input in the meantime.
