Over the last month of comps I have done well and with a bit more care and maybe a small amount of luck I would now be at my seasons target of 5.4.

Its coming and as title I can feel it.

Can you feel your game is simmering on the surface and something major is coming?

I feel the same after a year of frustration in 2016 when i played 10 comps and 5 supp cards and went from 16-17 Jan 2016-Dec 2016. Had nothing better than 32 points. Was getting very frustrated. Since Jan 1st i've gone from 17-12 and finally broken 80 with a 75. New equipment and 10 times more practice have led to great things. Even won a competition with just 5 clubs.

Single figures is the next target. Perfectly timed for the good weather. Positive frame of mind is everything - its a mental game!

New low round on Sunday. Feel like my game has really come on, I almost always beat my handicap, apart from when I have a card in my hand :o

Don't know, really. I'm not hitting it very well but I'm keeping a score going most times. Holing a few putts, short game shows signs of life.

I guess if I can get back to hitting the ball well then the signs are promising, but it's hard to be too positive when my ball striking is so ropey.

Also worth saying I've yet to play in an individual comp this year, so this could all go to hell when I get a card in my hand :D

I hope so, down to 11 from 13 in 4 weeks and if it continues single figures might just happen this summer.

Nope :( theres some seeds for optimism but quite a way from putting it all together.

Have gained a lot of extra flexibility especially in my hip and back from pilates (as well as shedding some timber), now need the strength to benefit from it in the swing on a more consistent basis. Expect its a summer of mixed form and if i stay fit and healthy will be happy enough with that, ahead of whats likely to be a move at the end of the summer/autumn and hopefully some new challenges

Absolutely, i've never hit the ball so good. 11/13 greens once my swing got going last time out round the par 3. Many tap in pars!

Just need to actually play golf on a full golf course, curse of the nomad golfer.

I felt it on Sunday! First board comp of the year, I was driving well and so happy with the way striking the ball with irons. Really was feeling that the 2 or 3 trips to the range were paying off, 1 ahead of handicap after 10 holes with the easiest stretch of the course coming up, I was feeling it.

Then a slightly off-centre drive that kicked right and ended up against an OOB fence, a drop that meant I didn't have a shot, and the wheels just fell off. 19 points out, 8(!) points home. I'm not feeling it any more :(

Have felt the positivity of good golf coming in the past so know what you mean.

Sadly heading in the wrong direction currently and thinking about having a week or two off with a bit of practice, no comps, no roll ups, but play the odd 9 instead.

Hopefully a good learning experience.

Next time you stumble you can power through. I've heard of medal board comps being won with 10s on a card.

Funny how people read things differently. I thought the question was in general can you feel it when you're on the cusp of something, rather than what is the current state of your game.

I'll answer both, yes, I can sense it when a good score is around the corner. But I don't have that feeling at the moment!

I'm not sure how I would feel about actually getting a handicap cut again....it's been so long 🤔

But I understand the OP, there are times you know you are playing better than you are scoring, and times you appreciate that you are scoring better than you are playing.
