Can you feel it?

At the moment I seem to alternate between playing really well and playing like a complete numpty, so I guess it's a case of avoiding the latter mode when playing in competitions! 😀

I feel like I can feel it, but my scores aren't really dropping. This time last year was typically loosing 1-5 balls a round, but now fairly rare to lose a ball off the tee and generally keeping the ball in play and a lot straighter, took bout a year to get used too swinging faster. I do have a lot more closer birdie opportunities than ever before due to taking shorter irons to the green.

However my putting seems to have got worse than last year and dropping a similar amounts of shots that a couple of lost balls cost me , got to love the game, shame it hates and tortures me.

Wouldn't say I can 'feel it coming' but I'm at the point where I know I should be able to put a really good round together (for my level). I've played some really good sets of nine holes in the past month or two, but no great eighteens yet. There's always a couple of mares that ruin it. e.g. got a 97 including a 10 on a par 3, when my best round that course was 93. So the potential is there basically, just need to cut out the blips and blobs that are ruining things.

yeah man, it's so nice when the anticipation of your next performance is a positive one!
Your feelings derive from your own internal thoughts. You can't control those, they just come to you.
So when you're seeing great shots with great satisfaction and thinking about them, this starts to happen.

This game is at it's most exciting and alluring when my thoughts are positive and I have calm confidence in what I'm capable of.
That's why I push myself so hard, to get to that place, full of belief, excitement, ambition... confident!

And that's why this game is never ending, no matter what level you are at... there's always a little bit better...!

Nope, always fighting it......."it" being poor driving, poor putting or general decision making (eg, being between clubs and not knowing whether to hit a soft 7i or a normal 8i etc). Just always seem to be on or around h.cap at the minute.

im looking forward to getting back to playing on a course again after a near two year injury ,the annoying thing for me was the round i played [ok it was only nine holes] before ny accident i was a golfing god ,my h/cap is or was 14 and i shot a one under gross .so at that time i could definitely feel it was going to be a good cut before too long . now im just hoping i can remember which end of the club to hold .saying that i have had a couple of rounds using a buggy but the less said about those the better, i have been working the range a fair bit lately upto three times a week and my ball striking has been pretty good ,i just hope i can replicate it on the course whe i finally feel im ready.

I've been steadily getting back to playing half decent for the past couple of months. Most parts of my game seem to be there or there abouts.

I do need to sort my head out though. I feel a lot of the shots I drop are due to me getting frustrated or some shot selection errors, firing at dangerous pins instead of going middle of the green. That probably cost me 4 shots on Sunday alone.

Been hitting a lot of good shots recently, unfortunately far too many bad ones then very poor decision making on the recovery shot inevitably costs me 1 - 2 more shots each time.

The game is there and I feel on the verge of a good round, just need to keep the head screwed on.

Feeling good at the mo, 4 rounds in a row in the mid 80s, not bad from a 19 handicap, been winning me some cash in the roll ups.

Used to dread going in bunkers or driving into the rough, now I don't mind it quite like trying to new shots and getting up and down. Full of confidence which has really helped. Should be a good season.

I'm feeling pretty good at the moment tbh. Pretty consistent, however, there is always one element of my game preventing me from getting a cut. Seems to be driver at the moment that's causing a few issues, but I worked on some stuff last night and it seems as though it's clicking!

I'm the driver as well......last Sunday was dreadful...............huge pushes and hooks......................worked out afterwards had a very upright swing for the driver rather than a good, slightly inside turn and swish, so to speak......went to range today and hit 29 out of 30 dead straight with the driver with this swing thought....................exciting and yet frustrating.....if I had hit 3 that straight, would have been mid 70's...........at least my iron play, short play skills were good otherwise could have been high 80's..............

So, yes, I am feeling it.

Looking forward to comp on Monday.

Ultimately, this is what drives us eh?! Otherwise we would all be on tour having the best time ever!

Feel like I am going to go low soon, been consistently in the buffer even when game is just OK. Hole a few puts and I reckon I'll be able to push towards a 10hcp this year.

That's all you can ask, keeping it around buffer on a B game. If you click then 10 would seem feasible. Hope it comes good soon, ideally in a big one at your club
