Can we hold a qualifier if we are using fairway mats?

Nice to see you went the organic route. There are still lots of products available in other countries but that is not the point- they have not banned the products like we have.

I was doing some research in to products after the current products for fuesarium were banned and some of the stories on the American websites about the what happened after using the alternatives eg pets dying after walking on the lawn, one of the available products killed everything in the bug world, made me realise just how careful we have to be.

Have to agree... as if they ban such products just to get under golfer's skin.

A number of European countries, notably Denmark and I think Holland, have banned pesticides and other chemical treatments on golf courses.

Only ever played one course that used fairway mats, was shocked to see some members carried little mats the size of a match box about 2 inches high to get the driver out on longer holes then revert back to standard mat for irons.

From what I've understood, where it has not been possible to arrange a qualifying competition, a Club may nominate a pair to represent it in the tournament
