hi all,

i've decided to book some lessons.

can anyone recommend a pro in the in Preston area?

cheers
Gary

If you are willing to travel 15mins down the motorway, Daniel at St Annes Old Links is fantastic. A few lessons with Daniel got me shooting in the mid 70's. I was averaging mid/high 80's before.

why not go to the de vere at HERONS REACH ask for leigh he was ass pro at my old club and is awesome he will take you through step by step and the complex has great facilities so your better half will not feel left out if you take her.

Big Russ would recommend this guy. Got to point out he is a stack and tilt man which might not be what your looking for. I am thinking of going to see him in the new year.

Got to recommend my own pro and teacher as he is a top bloke and a super teacher. As Doh says he is a stack and tilter so you need to be committed to change your swing. If you want someone a little more conventional give his assistant, Ryan O'neill a try. He teaches my son and is also a very good.
Get down to Whitestake driving range near Penwortham and pick up some information as this is where Darren is based for his teaching.

Anothe vote for Daniel at Old Links. I was down there last week and the new studio with the video analysis is absolutely state of the art. A bit steep cost wise but sure it will be worth the investment.

thanks for the replies everyone.

live in chorley, work in blackpool so thats a big area.

been looking at all of the clubs and ranges in the area.
leyland golf club 5 lessons £100
euxton driving range 6 lessons £100
chorley driving range (richard layton) 7 lessons £90
duxbury park 6 lesson £85
darren hopwood golf academy penwortham £100

so you can see thats plenty of choice all for similar money.

thats why i was looking for some guidance and personal experiences from you guys.

its a tough descision!

cheers

I'm currently taking lessons (On my 3rd) at Preston Golf Club off Andrew (head pro) and he's doing really well from my point of view, I'm at the same stage you are at also handicap wise. No massive changes but fixed my slice and shows you why things happen to the ball and you can start to see why you made a certain mis-hit etc.

Nice to see someone from the Preston area though! Are you a member anywhere?

Give Craig Corrigan at Haigh Hall Wigan, its only done the road from chorley they got a offer on at the moment
5 x ½ hour Golf Lessons Covering all areas of the game including video analysis £70 top guy Tel 01942 831107
hope this helps

steve parry at hart common, hell of a nice lad and a great golfer to match, he has won plenty, ive played in a couple of pro ams with him and wouldnt hesitate to ring him if i had a problem with my game

Also another great coach would be the head pro Alistair at De Vere's.

Alistair and Daniel(St Annes Old Links) are very good friends, you cannot go wrong with either gents.

Andrew Greenbank is a decent teacher, the only thing I have against Preston is that you have to

buy your own balls on top of the price of the lesson.whereas other places I`ve been the balls are thrown in.

I've been having lessons with Gary Clark at Euxton park for the last 2 years and my handicap come down from 15 to 6. Also have a mate who has just started with the guy at Hart Common and is really impressed with his methods....
