Teehee. That would have been impressive, Brendy. No cigar, mate.
One of these.

If you can name the courses and the holes you're a geeky golfer of the highest order.
Ach Patrick, you still didn't get the one in the O.P.
Disappointed, mate. It's the hole nearest the tee on the practice putting green at Nairn. How did you not get that? The clue's on the golf ball in the photo.
Otherwise, the prize for geekiness goes to you.
P.S. the photo at Castle Stuart was taken 1 minute after my hole in one there.
LOL. I would've thought you were a witch if you'd got it.
We played these 4 courses on consecutive days last week, Thu-Sun;-
Spey Valley was in it's usual excellent condition during the rain, sleet and snow which is usual in Aviemore. As such the greens were slow and a bit bobbly but no matter the weather it's a superb course. Lying water meant we had to carry rather than buggy, though. Check out my YouTube video from Thursday in my signature. They're building the new clubhouse at last!!
Nairn Dunbar is the best I've ever seen it and I've been playing it for over 30 years now. The greens are amongst the best I've putted on (ever) and with the new bunkering on some holes it really has turned into a must-play course. The 14 of us all agreed.
Castle Stuart was in top nick, as you'd expect with the Scottish Open 5 weeks away. They're ready for it now but will shave the greens.
Nairn? Well, what can I say? What the feck has happened to the best greens in the UK? They were shocking for a course of that stature. By far the worst of those 4 courses. They'll need to buck up their act pronto or they'll lose a fair bit of business, I'd say.
Hoping you get good weather at Spey Valley, if that's possible.:smirk:
That's interesting, Patrick. I wasn't aware of the technical reasons for their poor quality but I hope they get back to their best. And cheers for the heads-up.
