Callaway X hot driver

I tried one at Direct Golf on Saturday. The sound is a bit strange on impact, but the ball flew ok.Hit 20 balls with it and most shots had a gentle draw shape.I tried the stiff shaft.Cosidering a purchase after I play on Friday.waiting to see how my Diablo Octane performs first.
Anyone hit or bought one of these?

If so, what did you make of it?

Thanks.

I bought one and love it. Really forgiving on the off centre hits and just seems to fly further than you think it will when it first sets off probably because it has quite a low flight rather than ballooning up in the air. Some don't like the look of it but I quite like it and after comparing it to the other new drivers on the market it performed the best for me so I overlooked the fact it's not as sexy as the covert for example. It does have some basic adjustability (open neutral closed) but I wouldn't buy it if that's a high priority for you. All in all a good solid driver and probably the cheapest of the new drivers.

I've tried it briefly with the stock stiff shaft and got way too much backspin. More likely my swing than the club's fault.

The fairway wood on the other hand is an absolute weapon!

Had exactly the same experience.....

I purchased the Xtreme driver and Xhot Fairway...

Have tried one on the range twice and then today on the course. Have been really impressed with it but interestingly whilst I was struggling a bit with my driver full stop. A grip and club face check and bingo hitting my G15 a treat - every fairway at The Brabazon split down the middle with it yesterday and all off the middle! Took the X Hot out today and a sweet hit seemed to go VERY high compared to my already high ball flight with the G15. I'd say hit for hit the G15 was a bit longer and, in my current form, easier to hit off the sweet spot. So the jury is still out for me and I think my G15 is telling me to save the money - especially as my car insurance and service is due!

PS. Not keen on the looks and they're not really growing on me...
PPS. David gave it a smack and it again went very high compared to his G20 BUT end result was longer...

Have to agree with that. I could swear that Gary was hitting his X-Hot fairway wood further than his driver. It went bullett straight as well. If I had not recenty converted to Orka I would certainly be giving one of these a try.

Well i went to AG today for driver fitting , and to be honest the X Hot would have been last on my list for looks as i like the colours of the Nike & Amp.
But then found out with all the testing it worked out the higher trajectory which i am after(normally take knee caps off) and the greater yardage was the Callaway, outshining the Nike, rbz,Ping G25 & R1 .
Now i guess my swing speed on a driver is not great (irons much better) but had a speed of 90 with yardage about 245, was happy with that as they all went straight.
but forgot to try the New Callaway RAZR Xtreme- but would that be that much better than the Hot by £100 pounds worth ?

Now the only trouble is the trade in price at AG is S### £70 for my ping and £34 for my taylormade R11 3 wood! so trying golfbidder now

Will be trying one out on Thursday as its a Callaway demo day at my club no plans of buying out just try stuff out

Craig - keep your money for my Orka demo day in May! Will have the new Orka driver, FW and Hybrids by then!

Apologies for threadjacking to the OP.

Bought an X-Hot and posted a review.

Have to say never went looking for it but it really does bomb the drives and feels great. Not in love with the looks but it is by no way the worst looking club out there.

For me the worst think is the name, just sounds too much like a late night tv channel you dont want the kids watching.
