Well I finally got to try it out yesterday, and boy what a club it is.

Background

The club pro said I needed a stiff shaft on my driver, due to high swing speed. My current driver ( Big Bertha ) tends to hit very high shots.

So, I went to AG yesterday with no preconceptions ( not much anyway !! ) to try out a range of clubs with a stiff shaft.

First I hit 3-4 with my current driver, this gave us a baseline to measure the new clubs against, ball speed was 155mph. Then with the stiff shafted drivers, my flight was lower and therefore distance was longer, generally the balls were straighter. I tried the G10, G5, Burner and Yonex. All were about the same. He then brought along the ft-iq 9.5 with a stiff shaft. The difference was really noticeable, I was hitting the shots about 15 yards further and much more consistent with the balls landing in the same place !!

I was extremely impressed. However at £399.00 its a choker !!

Better get saving then.

On the other hand, at least you know that in two years time (when they are dead cheap) you will be sorted.

Give it 12 months and they will be half price. The first one was. Alternatively did you try the same shaft in differtent heads or on the older FTI, these should be dirt cheap now because of the new ones release and I doubt there will be much difference.

If it is going to make a huge improvment to your game then maybe you can justify they monumental price tag, or even have £400 spare then go for it. If not, then the older FTI would be a real bargin. However you know your specs and you could just shop around different makes to see what ones are cheaper. Or just change the shaft in your current driver, would save you about £350. :)

What shaft was it, I am sure this is a stiff shaft for sale in the for sale section. I'll check
