A lot of Golf Clubs up and down the length and breadth of the country could learn from the lay out at Callander. Its not spectacular, its not a superb but what it is is great fun! Its a wonderful golf course.

Off of the yellow tees its a mere 4470 yards par 64 which stretches to a par 66 5208 yard monster off of whites!

Despite its length or lack of its certainly no push over and it offers some of the toughest par 3's that you'll find anywhere. The trio of par 3's round the turn ranging from 180 yards to 231 yards, 9,10 and 11 are testament to that. Throw in the 225 yard 14th as well and you start to get the picture.

Tree lined fairways make you think twice about driver and if the wind blows is swirls through the trees making clubing difficult at times. Factor in nice true greens, wonderful views and your in for a grand days golf.

At £40 for a twilight fourball its also amazing value, well worth a visit.

I played a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with the tricky layout and good condition of the course. The course was quite busy so a little slow due to the number of par 3's.

Good value and will be back, also the food was great.
