Hi all,

My parents are in the process of buying a small apartment on a course in Spain. Rather than lug my whole bag over each time we visit to play out there, I'm looking to leave a 2nd set out there to use.

My Dad has been told it's cheaper to buy a set here in the UK and take them on a flight over, so my question is, does anyone have experience buying clubs and having them delivered in Spain (ideally from a Spanish based golf website) to see if this is any cheaper?

Same goes for golf balls - it would be good to bulk buy 3 / 4 dozen in Spain, but the resort charge a lot. Any Spanish golf websites good for balls too?

Thanks!

Having just got back from Spain, as the pound is quite strong now I'd guess it's probably cheaper to buy them over there? I found everything cheaper than the UK. Have you tried El Directo Golfo?;)

I'd look at this as an opportunity to upgrade my set and take my old ones over! A lot of UK sites do offer delivery to Spain. Direct Golf are free delivery over £99.

I have a friend who lives in Madrid. He says that clubs are really dear in Spain and just orders everything he wants from American Golf in the UK. Works for him. Not sure about balls, but would imagine the same applies.

I wonder, if this is the case, if all Spanish golfers would be better ordering from the UK, and if the UK golf firms could make a bit more cash that way ?

If you do buy a 2nd set and take them over, don't forget to make sure they are metric compatible

similar issue, we have a kip just outside budapest so rather than transport my set i just left my old set there. if you need to buy onlinegolf.eu charge 8euro delivery anywhere in europe and acegolfballs.co.uk are decent with good delivery rates in europe.

Thanks all. It's a place an hour away from Alicante. One of the Polaris World places.

I thought with the Pound to Euro being good it would be cheap, but all the sales people have said it's the one thing that isn't cheaper!

Thanks for the links, I'll take a look. I'm very lucky in that my kit here is all fairly new and I'm playing well with them at the moment so I'd not want to get rid of them yet!!
