Bloody hell, there isn't even anything I can say remotely amusing to that. That's a ridiculously terrible day x

Bring back the Birch or at least the Stocks
We need to catch the little bleeders and then publicly humiliate them.

Murph can be first in the Queue, we can all tag behind

Hope you get back on track soon

Feel for you Murph.

had the garage done about 3 years ago. I had load of gear as I was doing an extension.
Never claimed in 30 years and I was made to feel like a criminal.
A stihl saw? yes, "i am doing an extension" Cocks!!

Fortunately HID saves all the receipts so got paid out. I was with DL and the garage wasn't alarmed but turned out ok in the end.
They took the glass out of the window at the back and left loads of prints but the police didn't even come out, just gave me a crime No.

Put the feelers out but word was they weren't local.

If I had caught them they would have been in the foundations

Crumbs Murph. Sorry to hear that. It's a nightmare.

I had a break in at one of the flats I was selling a few years back while I was on holiday golfing in Nairn. Rushed back home early to find they'd simply kicked the door in! Other neighbours in the stair said they "wondered" what all the noise was! The 6'7" rugby player above our flat didn't even stick his head out his door to investigate what the 30+ repeated banging noises were! What a ***.

Luckily the flat was empty but the police "joiner" charged £167 for putting a hasp on the door to secure it. Good hourly rate if you can get it.

Hope you have some luck recovering your stuff, mate.

Sorry to hear that Murph. Presumably they took the stuff out one of the doors which they opened from the inside. Lately when we leave the house unattended we have a policy of making sure that none of the outside doors or windows can be unlocked from inside. We lock them all and hide all the keys or take them with us. It would be interesting to see the burglars trying to climb down the drainpipe carrying TV sets and laptops etc.

Jeez, that is unreal. Makes my event seem pretty small by comparison.
The only good thing to come out of that was when I eventually took the dog to the vets and told him the story - he wouldnt take payment for her treatment - he said she deserved a DDM - Distinguished Dog Medal because she would have tried to protect the house....was a nightmare
..its the feeling of intrusion i hated...and the insurance where swines to settle with us......the police incident unit came around 2 days later to try and take fingerprints....pointless

Murph,

We were with DL and they were as good as gold. Pitty I couldn't say the same for the car insurer. Direct Line even paid out on my golf clubs, and they were in the boot of the car!!!

It was our burgalry that eventually made us decide to move to Cornwall. I used to travel a lot with work, and so the wife never felt secure. That coupled with the fact that we got the car back a week later and it was back sitting on our drive didn't help!! :|

She is currently upstairs looking at Apple Mac prices, so I guess she is ok at the moment.

All the external d/stairs doors were locked, but one of the windows wasn't, so they exited there. I would have liked to see one of them climbing down a drainpipe with a lap top under his arm. Not sure why they nicked it anyway, according to plod, the going rate for a hot laptop in Watford is £20.

Sorry to hear about that mate.
It might be worth checking around for your stuff in the free ads, gumtree, ebay and have a look around the pawn shops. It's a long shot but as the saying goes 'You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity'

Sorry to hear this has happened mate. It may be worth checking any local car boot sales , we have one near us where a lot of the stolen gear turns up.

That's shocking Murph. Makes my blood boil every time I hear about the toerags who think they have the right to other peoples property.

Not that it'll ever happen, but they need a damn good kicking. Would be more of a deterrent than the 'risk' they take now.

Hope all's back to normal soon.

Hold on a minute.....stop the bus....rewind....back up a tad.

Dodger, you were discussing WHAT with the burd?

I think you have just given us all an insight into what goes on in that netherworld between Scotland and England during the long winter months.

I'm quite happy to throw in a "gee whizz" and a "golly gosh" for good measure, by the way.
