i was terrible from the sand until i watched this youtube clip from leftie , i have since improved massively so thought i would share it ....incase anyone else is struggling
Interesting stuff. I'm usually just happy to get the ball out at the first attempt but maybe Phil's targetted practice is something I should be trying. Having said that, I don't remember the last time I specifically practised bunker shots.
I just come back from a bit of bunker practice at the driving range as it happens (having been in five of the buggers yesterday) and found I had more success if I treated it almost like a full shot i.e. transfer of weight and long follow through.
This video seems to bare that out.
I also found that I couldn't get on with the large bounce on my SW which made it more likely that I would blade the ball in the sort of builders sand I'm usually in. My 58 Vokey with less bounce was the tool for job IMHO
FWIW Phil Michelson comes across as a really good teacher. Any idea which DVD this is taken from?
