Until now.
My contract with BT is up for renewal and I'm starting to look around for alternatives.
I assume I just pay BT for the line rental and pick a package I want.
But I also assume they don't all do what they say they do.
So my question is are there any providers I should avoid please?
Thanks

Bob, You do not have to pay BT for line rental, any of the providers can offer that as well. It makes sense to move everything across as then you only have one bill rather than two.

We do not use them but Talk Talk come consistently low on customer satiscation surveys in this area so personally I would not touch them. Have you looked on the Martin Lewis site? He is often a good starting point for this type of thing.

I just got through to BT and they told me that so happy days.
They also told me that I could reduce my bill from £46 to £31 all in.

I did look at TALK TALK so thanks for the warning.
I'm now off to see what Martin Lewis has to say.
Thanks

We were on TalkTalk, awful customer service. They're cheap for a reason. We have moved to Sky because we already have the Sky TV and they did a decent deal for "all-in" on the Sky package.
Do shop around though as there are some good deals but check on the customer service as although TalkTalk offered us a slightly cheaper price, and fixed for the term of the agreement, I wouldn't go back to them for a Gold watch.

Recently moved my landline from Sky to Plusnet. Absolutely hassle free, saved loads of cash and got a great deal on both my and my wife's mobile contracts too as they have both now been moved over since. If you do go over, I can also offer you a referral code.

TalkTalk are a marmite company. You either get smooth onboarding, brilliant broadband, good service on the rare occasion you need it and have no issues at all, or it's an absolute mess. My experience was really good honestly, never had an issue, got really good speeds, but having worked there I know they have their struggles, they're working hard on it though and are making a genuine effort to improve the customer experience. Hard to get people back who have left in the past off the back of shocking service though.

I switched over to EE this year and so far they've been excellent and far better than Plusnet were.
