Can anyone help with with this problem ? I have Bt broadband home hub 3.0 hrc7 which has 3 lights on on telling you if the device is working correctly. When I try to connect with any device the device it will say it has full signal and connect to the hub but I can't connect to any web page, all 3 blue lights are on and I turn off/ reset and unplugged all leads and it's still not working.

When I try to connect with the laptop it says connected BUT no Internet access !

Very confussed please help :)

Have you pressed the 'flight mode' key which many laptops have, that would stop your wireless signal.

Is it a new laptop? Have you used the wireless connection before?

Fragger can help here with exact instructions, but if it is new, check the TCP/IP properties of the network connection. Mine had an IP address being set when the laptop was new and I saw the same behaviour. You need to change it to obtain an IP address automatically. Check both TCP/IP v4 and v6 if you have them.

Are you sure you are using the correct wifi security key, its located on a plastic lug at the top of the router, can the laptop see the BT hub when you scan for available wifi networks?

could be no PPP session! the router will display all lights but its BT side thats down, ring them up and ask if they can check the PPP, they should be able to see if its down.

Obviously try via ethernet 1st. If you have nowt then ring them, usually no PPP will display as a red light in the middle one but can be blue, could also be faulty adsl port in the exchange or faulty hub.

The trouble with broadband is its rarely obvious what the root cause is grrrr
