Imurg's post about a bad lie brought back events of last weekend which ended the life of my 7 iron.
Playing 9 holes on Friday in Bunclody prior to our Captains Day outing on Saturday. Ball in the rough but rough wrong side of cart path and rough marked as a hazard. Ball under a few leafs with a few overhanging branches---so just went to knock the ball out and up the fairway. Swung at the ball, strange sound as i struck at the ball, unfortunately missed the ball due to striking a tree root, which i did not see, resulting in the grip staying in my hand and the rest of the club on the ground.
Credit to the golf club who lent me a seven iron for the Saturday outing.
Strange way to justify buting a new set of irons. HID down for the weekend so my playing partners kept imforming her of my misfourtune and how i need a few set of irons.
