Broke 90 Twice on 2 Different Courses

I have been threatening to break 90 for the first time for quite a while now having scored 90 or 91 on most of my last few rounds. Well, yesterday the magic moment came and as I sunk my putt on the last I totted my score up for an 88. Obviously I was over the moon with that. Anyway, had promised to play with a mate today and could not use my course due to competitions so went back to the course I learned to play on, Rutland Water. Was having a great round and totalled up my score at the end for an 89. Weekends do not get much better than that, not only did I break 90 twice but on two different courses in two days.

Well done mate - always good to score well on new courses. I played Leatherhead last week for the 2nd time in about 25 years and got 35 points but actually felt like I had a feel for where to leave the ball on each hole. If you go back to these courses again you may find the same thing and shoot even lower

Yes, as I stood there on the 18th in my shorts I carefully put my chipper back in my bag, pumped my fist then marked my card on the green and called all my mates on my mobile to tell them the good news
