Broke 80!! Get in!!

Broke 80 for the first time yesterday. Shot a 79 albeit on a par 67 course. One triple bogey and every other hole was either bogey or better, in total scored 1 birdie, 6 pars, 10 bogeys and 1 triple bogey.

Highlights include the birdie on the par 3 with the tee shot finishing about 10 inches from the pin. And also a 190 yard 3 hybrid out of a fairway bunker. Only the second time I had used the club as I only bought it on Sunday.

Over the moon with my score and totalled 44 points off of a 20.4 handicap which has now ben cut to 19.2

Just hope I can carry on like this.

I don't have an official club handicap, I use golfshake.com and it has cut me 1.2 don't know if this is right or not?

If you're breaking 80, surely your handicap shouldn't be around the 20 mark?

Barry it's very rare, I played a few times over the bh's and scored a 99, 97 one in the 80's then this 79. I know I have the game there to do it, it's just about being consistent.

fair play davey, but id look at this software a bit closer. A 1.2 cut would indicate your CSS is 63, 4 less that SSS. I dont know any courses where CSS is 4 lower than par.

To be honest oddsocks I don't really understand the CSS and SSS, I can give you what the card says if anyone wants to work it out?

Oddsocks, just checked and the par is 67 with an SSS of 63. Does that mean anything?

In that case its worked it out correctly. Its basically saying you need to shot 4 under to be level handicap in comps. You was effecively 8 under handicap, but only 4 under CSS which is why you have only been cut 4x0.3 and not 8x0.3
