Broadchurch Second Series

SPOILERS!

I thought last night's episode was really excellent, moved the story along a bit. The Ashworth's look decidedly dodgy but i'm sure there'll be a couple more twist and turns before the story finishes!

I agree, i thought it was starting to drag a little with not much happening. The scene with Olivia Coleman shouting at her son was VERY powerful and brilliantly acted.

I didnt see the point of the woman from birds of a feather either.

It eventually led to the business with Mark Latimer and the young lad playing FIFA in the static caravan and Mark Latimer's affair with the blonde woman etc coming out so took the case off on a different tangent for a moment. Although, as Mark Latimer said, it does appear that she couldnt tell the difference between 2 bald blokes!

SPOILER ALERT!

Have to say i was mildly disappointed with the final episode last night. It was obvious that Joe Miller was going to be found not guilty but the conclusion to the Sandbrook case was a bit predictable and the whole banishing of Joe Miller was a bit lame.

Throughout the series there's been growing doubts as to whether Joe Miller was actually guilty or whether it was someone else but that has been left hanging. In readiness for the 3rd series i guess!

yeah all a bit predictable in the end.

I enjoyed the whole court case element and felt it did a good job of raising questions about the U.K. judicial system, which shows like this often skirt over.

I thought the acting in the second series was markedly improved and especially Olivia Coleman.

All in all a very good series, although I have my reservations about the third.
