Bridgestone walking away from UK golf....

The 330 is a great ball. When they launched, it was extremely competitive in price and very much worth the purchase. However, after a while they almost doubled in price, which was the time I stopped buying them. A very viable alternative is the Wilson DX3 Soft (now repackaged as DX3 Spin?, good distance for us slower swing hitters, good spin and feel around the greens too, for less than £20 a dozen. Comparable with the 330 range, and ProV.

I'm sorely tempted to try the Vice equivalent, but want to actually try one first..... I know they do a taster pack, but I'm not interested in the two piece at all, so would be buying something I would never use.

Ive used Bridgestone balls from 96 with the Rexstar, then when they finished had a few years with ProV then went back to Bridgestone 330's. I won't go back to ProV that's for sure.

You won't go back to a Pro V? Is that the Pro V that Titleist had to pay Bridgestone off for?

What is random about it?

Who cares? There is plenty other options around for everyone's swing speed, feel etc etc etc I could appreciate if it was Titleist, Ping, TM etc but in reality regardless of how big they are on the USA they're a minor supplier to the uk market and won't be missed BUT it shows how weak the UK golf market is.

No one on the forum will be disadvantaged in any way unless you happened to have a source a Bridgestone who gave you free stuff.

Non story, nothing to see here so move on please people.

You start by saying "who cares".. The post is 45 replies long so...
You go on to say "I could appreciate if it was Titleist, Ping, TM" .. So you pick your kit by the name on it... or that its a good bit of kit?? The name is that powerful to you?
You then tell us "and won't be missed".. yet this post is filled with people who are saying they will miss various balls Bridgestone make.
Your not finished yet.. You tell us "Non story, nothing to see here so move on please people" .. On the back of your opinion this was not worth talking about and we must "move on"... Really? I refer you to point 1... The post is 45 replies long.

SUPER RANDOM!!!!

This is such a tragic blow. And before Christmas too. So sad.

Really puts life into perspective when you read something as gut-wrenchingly wounding as this. My thoughts are with all of you that are affected by this desperate turn of events. Please stay strong. I think you can get through it - just be brave and time will heal. It always does......

Although I've recently switched to Vice balls I always like the B330's and will grab some if they go cheap.

I feel for the people who may lose employment over this

SUPER RANDOM!!!!

Its not random its called opinion, here is me thinking this is a forum where opinions are welcome

Bridgestone wont be missed by the UK golfing public, most amateurs don't use their stuff anyway hence why they are pulling out of the UK market. 45 posts and many posts by the same people on a thread seen by 100's if not 1000's of forum members doesn't really suggest they are a big deal.

Like I said, it's a non story however im sorry you find it so heartbreaking but I'm sure you'll be fine in a month or so

/stretch... Yawn... RANDOM!!!!!

Opinions are where you give an.... opinion... Writing "Bridgestone wont be missed by the UK golfing public" is not the definition of opinion. I get that your not the sharpest tool and all that, maybe there is a slow play post or something a little less challenging for you that you can lend your "opinion" to...

Strange subject to get the handbags out on :o

I like the rxs balls, but I won't lose any sleep over them not being available.
There's plenty other options.

The reason I changed is that they did a ball fitting at my club & the results vs the pro v1 were excellent. I do find the ad333 tour, zxv and the Tm tp equally as good though.

There was some resource going into the ball fitting this year, I guess that didn't see the results expected. They always seemed to have a confused offering, mainly due to the srixon connection. One seems to be pulling out of the uk and the other filling the gap on a yearly cycle.

And they probably are, especially from those that have met me but hey ho, we probably never will meet and I thank the good lord for that.

Have a nice day

You know what, based on the fact that you want to fall out over this.... yep we will never meet. Wow... sad man...

When I read a post and its in my opinion a "non story" I tend to keep out of it... I guess I`m looking to talk about golf stuff rather than trying to grab some attention cos I don't get out much. Tell you what though... Next time this happens try your very very hardest to make an intelligent argument so at least there is some sport in it.

I offered a valid opinion and you posted with your childish post of being it random and followed it up with yawn...stretch

So, there you have it, I havent fallen out with anyone you've fallen out with me.

No handbags from me bud but an opinion someone didnt like is apparently random.

Your second paragraph echos my thought, they wont be missed as the didnt have a good market share. If anything they are probably 4th or 5th choice ball for the market behind.

Titleist
Srixon
TM
and maybe Callaway

Based on my opinion rather than any research.

Wow! How did this thread get here? Haha

Best to keep the personals and name calling out of it eh Alex?

My opinion is its a little worrying. Profits in tm took a nose dive, direct golf an other retailers going to the wall, bridgstone pulling the plug. Surely, the more competition the better

Whilst this made me smile, the flip side is that there will be people who have now been made redundant or simply let go, not a great Christmas for them, sarcasm aside.
