Bridgestone balls

Like I said in my OP I've not tried that many but I'm tempted to give them a go. Tried the TM Penta last weekend and distinctly unimpressed. Penfold (remember them) have a new 4 piece out and I'm keen to try them too as they are getting some good feedback

Was told in AG Hedge End that Bridgestone make the Nike balls???

Tried TM Black and not impressed; played today with Pro V1X and lost 3!!! PLayed with Pro V1 and hit it sweet as - is this a lesson learned?

(speaking of which still no bloody sign)

Interesting timing this. I was in Direct Golf yesterday buying some Pro V1's for £34, and the lad serving me suggested that I try the Bridgestone as they were only £30. According to him, when the R&A etc test clubs, they use Bridgestone balls as they consider them the best. He said he's just switched and they were as good as the Titleist. Think I might give them a go next time

Great balls, have been using the RX recently and have gained roughly 10 yards on my drive and a club on my irons great balls for the money picked up a dozen in St Andrews for £24 a few weeks ago.
IMO they are better and more resistant than the Pro V1 and cheaper into the bargain well worth a try.

I just switched to the Tour-S and can't fault them. Initially I looked at them cause the reviews were good and they are £5 cheaper than the Pro-v1. After trying them I won't be going back. In the last couple of weeks I've played with two other guys who have switched. I think Titleist have finally got some serious competition with the B330 range.

They must be popular around my club. I find a lot

....in the rough.

No surprise, the "spinny" ones spin like a spinny thing let loose on free-spinning day from broadmoor spin ward.

They also spin sideways.....or maybe no-one had noticed, other than me.

Awesome, way out of my league.

I've read they are supposed to reduce driver side spin but how do you tell? If you put a bad swing on it, you can slice any ball, these are no different. For me, they go about the same distance with the driver, they spin loads with my wedges. The flight is lower, noticeably so on shorter pitch shots and they are great around the green.

I expect they are the dog's around the greens. I hit some nasty shots with the ones I used, and I subscribe to the theory that the more the ball spins, the worse it'll banana off a straighter faced club, that's why I avoid spin/control balls until it's absolutely necessary in the summer/hard greens.
I guess like all balls, some are going to suit certain games/swings better than others.
I do agree the whole range seems excellent though.

I really like the RX model. Yet the S model I don't rate at all. The S model chews to feck and it doesn't spin anywhere near enough for me. I can only assume that I don't swing the club fast enough to use the S and that's why I like and rate the RX.

I would happily put the RX into play every week however I'm still a Z-STAR man and think that they still edge it in terms of my ball preference.

Talking about balls. At Castle Stuart Algar5 and I were the first two to go up to the Tit rep and get the ball fitting done. He was obviously really keen at this stage and gave us all the patter and chatted about our games as well. The rep then says to me "I take it you use the Pro V1". You should have seen the poor sods face when I replied "no Srixon".

I guess you had to be there but his face was a picture.

Hi

I have switched to the RXS this year. It is supposed to have a softer core (for amateur swing speeds this is much better) than the RX and spins more. I have to say i switched because it spins so mutch for me around the green and is great off the driver. Better than my favourite ball the Tour i.

I had a voucher off DG so brought 4 Doz at £27/Doz. Only lost 1 in 5 rounds of golf so its durability is great, although they dont swim too well........

Edgey

I play the RX balls but I find it hard to rate a ball. I am always blaming my swing and very rarely the club or ball if the results are not as I would like them to be.
