So I have an interview for a promotion to Team Lead, I'm the only one in my dept who got selected for an interview and a couple other internal from the other IT depts also got through. It's to be the team lead of my department.

I need to do a 20 minute presentation and then the interview process.. I keep trying to do the presentation to myself but keep stumbling.

Tomorrow will be a long day, but when it's done I can hit the pub!

Thanks for the advice guys. I've been revamping my presentation and im feeling a bit more confident about it now. I'll post back tomorrow with how it went!!

when is it?

I assume the presentation is about your job (which you know inside out) use bullet points only, no long paragraphs on any slides etc etc maybe too late now if its today..........I have lots of experience with this type of scenario so if I can help PM me and I'll be happy to call you?

Good luck either way and BE YOURSELF!

Thought I'd pop out an update as of today, I didn't get the job but I was told I was the right candidate at the wrong time, I had some great ideas but just didn't no how to implement, monitor and mange them. All in all got back some really positive feedback and they said my presentation was one of the best considering it was my first public presentation.

My boss was in the meeting as well as hr and he said how well I did and from the sounds of it my boss, the hr person and the group it manager have been discussing my position and Ive been told that there maybe some changes made to my contract in appraise time (April) looks like they are also going to give me some more projects where I can manage people and help me gain the managerial experience I need and bump me up to a senior it analyst :)

Hopefully a bonus to!!

:)

It sounds like a pretty reasonable runners up prize and tells me your manager thinks you have some good stuff to offer to make them look at other options to allow you to develop. Good result long term for you I think
