I'm in the area on a family holiday in early March, is it worth bringing the clubs and having a quick round? Is it reasonably dry or hit and splash?

I play this regularly in the summer. I've never played in proper winter but that isn't a reflection of its condition. I avoid in winter as its a decent trek from me so tend to only play places where we are able to book or that allow non members on weekends

It's almost pan flat but has a couple of interesting holes and is generally quiet midweek

Cradoc is superior to Brecon but with the OP referencing a quick round I assumed 9 was the aim. Plenty of options within 30-40 mins from Llanfaes if you'd like a choice.

Glynneath, Morlais Castle, Cilsanws, West Mon, Aberdare all 18 hole courses to the south. There are a couple of others too. Llandovery has a 9 holer to the west about 30 mins drive.
