Great result for Ireland's Olympic team getting gold medals for boxing and riding. Sounds like a normal Saturday night... if only drinking and bad dancing were sports we would clean up. Lol

Great performance by Taylor. I read on RTE.ie that a lot of people finished work early and were in the pub to see the fight.

First two round were tight, but then she found her form. Lots of folk also got to watch it at work on rte I player.
Always a great buzz in the country when sports people do well. I remember watching European championship qualifiers at school when there were midweek early kickoffs. Although boxing in Ireland has always gave many high points. Barry McGuigan was the first I remember? His brother Dermot (RIP) was a super golfer and held the course record at Clones Golf course. Im not sure if it still holds.

Why don't the Olympic commitee combine the two events and have boxing while riding? or have the horses wear boxing gloves on their front hooves, then the riders could get the horses to rear up and box kind of like how kangaroos do.
