Hi we are off to bournmouth in a few weeks time, have a round booked on Saturday and looking to play on Sunday morning on the way home

Any of the good private clubs down here will charge upwards of £50 on a Sunday, probably more like £75. There are a few public courses, Meyrick Park is quite nice, tight and very tricky with great par 3's then there is also Queens Park. Both these courses are on common land so are restricted to 'golfing hours', think the last tee time on a Sunday is around midday so best you check in advance.
Couple of other options are Bramshaw (2 courses), Paultons Park or Dibden golf centre which usually has decent greens. There is also Iford golf centre, never played it but heard the greens are poor this year.

You could try Brockenhurst Manor, you won't get much more New Forest than that.

Some other good suggestions already. For my tuppence Paultons is ok, good condition but a few decent holes interspersed with some that are pretty meh. Dibden is quite a decent track, if not particularly tough (except for the 18th!) If you don't mind heading a bit more into town Southampton City is excellent, ignore the fact that everyone still calls it the muni, its a superb golf course.

We are coming down on 1st/2nd Nov, booked in Purbeck on Saturday Hotel in central Bournemouth Saturday night for a few beers and steering towards Queens in Bournemouth on Sunday morning

I've not played Queens for a while but iirc it is a pita with dog walkers, esp Sundays and is not the course i'd pick. Merick park a bit better and a much nicer course.
Moors Valley is a nice track (1st is a bit something and nothing but after that good). On the short side but great setting through woodland.

Do you have a county card - Broadstone / Parkstone / Ferndown very nice but on the more expensive end and not sure they'd accept them at a w/end but maybe worth a phone call.

If you are staying in Bournmouth then there are lots around. I've played Queens and Meyrick a lot over the years, but they have definitely gone down hill. If you can afford it then play Broadstone or Parkstone, but you won't go far wrong at my gaffe (Canford Magna), and you should be able to get on. If you do, then play the Parkland rather than the Riverside or Knighton (former will suffer from the rain and River by then, latter is Par 3).
Avoid Bulbury unless budget is king, Dorsetshire (was East Dorset) bit further west but worth a shout.

dudsbury, canford magna parkland or meryick park in bourneouth, Barton on Sea is worth a go, tough in this weather though. Hampworth near Landford in the forest is good too

I'm surprised and saddened to hear that - I've not played there in quite a few years but it was shaping up quite nicely, obviously that upward trend has not been continued - what a shame as I always enjoyed it.
Not played CM for a while either, perhaps we could have a knock next time I'm down in B'mth area (parents in Colehill, Dad member at Moors Valley after leaving Dubsbury because of frequent water induced closure).
