I found some local advertised clubs which i thought would be perfect to get one of my friends into the game. £30 for about 20 clubs, bag and trolley wasn't expecting much to say the least!

They are pretty tired looking for the most part and old with some rusting, but a couple i'm thinking i might nab for my own bag (I have a full dunlop set)

Here's some examples anyway of the better ones:

Excuse the rust on the wedge, have not had a chance to attack it with some wire wool yet.
The Taylormade wood has quite a small head which i'm assuming is due to it's very dated design? can't find any information about it online! also have the 5 and 7 wood of it.

Should i be adding/ switching with my clubs or are they worthless now?

I havn't had a chance to hit any of them yet so can't comment on how they perform.

Any advice / opinions welcome :D

The problem is that if you are using a load of different clubs, it will be difficult to get any consistancy. at least if you have a set you stand half a chance

A 3 Iron? are you sure thats wise?

Yeah i never use a 3 iron anyway and my friend certainly wont be! might even ebay that one if it's worth anything.

I see what you're saying about consistancy, my dunlop woods have quite a bigger head on them so think they are more forgiving for a beginner.

they will be worth what someone will pay for them - their book value would be p not £

you may find things like the lob wedge work for you, and that 3 iron might just be the magic positional tee shot provider you have been looking for!

Oh well we all make mistakes! :D will do for him to play a few rounds and see if he wants to take it further. Although it's a mixed bag they are all decent makes of clubs, (Wilson, Callaway, Mizuno, Bridgestone etc) So thought it would be ok, nevermind! Lesson learned.

I have a mate who has just started and hits a 3 iron better than any club in his bag. Off the tee, off the deck, out of fairway bunkers...goes well. Shame all he can't hit any other irons for toffee.
