Boring and Exciting Sports

None of the sports I've played have been boring otherwise I wouldn't play them.
Now watching is a different matter entirely

My view entirely!

I played Billiards quite seriously, but only participants would be likely to appreciate the skills involved while watching it! Golf can be similarly 'challenged'.

Most exciting was Hockey - on Astro.

Biggest consistent adrenalin rush was actually virtually stationary - (Chair) Umpiring Tennis.

Cricket is boring to play & even worse to watch IMO.

It's pretty exciting when you spend five days in and around 10,000 Barmy Army Fans

I've been on tour to West Indies & Australia a couple of times watching England play and it was as exciting as any tour event I've been to...probably more so.

Drinking beer in the sun watching sport...happy days :D

Most boring... a toss up between squash and hockey.

Most exciting... its got to be golf. I've been very lucky to have played it to a decent level, and played many scratch events. Being 5 under after 6 and winning 7&6 in a regional league final was brilliant.

Trialling for one of the old 1st div football clubs was exciting.

Playing a regional final in rugby union, with a huge crowd was exciting, and similarly with the football.

Running a County record at 400m in a county championships was exciting.

I've had a great sporting life.... but I detest squash and hockey.

Played an ok standard of cricket, I just didn't enjoy it, was a batsman and hated fielding!

Raced motorbikes from schoolboy scrambling through to full on supersports. Loved it!

Dullest has to be any form of Rugby just cant stand playing or watching it.

Biggest rushes sport wise for me is MMA spent years doing taekwondo, Brazilian jiu jitsu and other disciplines entering standard tournaments then stepped up to full on MMA at 25 and spent 5 years doing it properly. The nerves and adrenaline before a bout is something I've yet to match.

My lad has just started taekwondo aged 4. He loves it! Well it's not full on, have you heard of little PUMAs?

Now your talking sense. End of thread!

Lol! Now that's a sport where you can be quick, but someone will always be quicker! In golf terms I reckon I was a cat1, the guys at scratch were awesome! Raced against Bruce anstey once, man he is quick! Plus one time we raced in Northern Ireland, the local boys were mental on and off the track!!!

I've only ever played cricket, baseball and golf to any standard. Baseball is just a great game to play and watch. Anyone who would understand the heart and mind of America will grow to love baseball.

I've been involved in American Football for over 30 years and would love to have played the game but did not quite have the size. Did a little coaching and have reported on it though at the highest level. I got into hockey when the Tampa Bay Lightning made their run at the Stanley Cup in 2004 but it never quite did it for me,

Cannot abide soccer any longer for all the usual reasons. But if I had to watch one sporting event it would be a Game 7 of a World Series.

NW200 is a belter of a weekend.

Rugby and Cricket are interesting as they can be among the most boring and most exciting both to watch and play depending on the game.

Also with ski-ing. Cross country ski-ing is incredibly boring - but alpine ski-ing is amazing. Was addicted to Ski Sunday back in the 1980's. Remember the Cazy Canucks!

Surfing - can go from sitting around twiddling your thumbs in 3 foot waves, to having 8-10 foot waves crashing on your head and pinning you under for minutes at a time. Only sport I've came close to dying doing twice, and still go back for more!
However pretty dull sporrt to watch on tele, even when do appreciate the skill involved.

Looking back at the OP question it was asking what were the most exiting and boring sports you have 'played', not watched. There will never be agreement with a question like this so it's just down to individual taste.

For me the most exiting is Squash, I played for thirty years and was never bored with it, the speed and challenge of the game was a buzz.

The most boring was Cricket, I played it at school and just found it too slow and uninteresting.
